Tetsu Ikuzawa: still racing Porsches at 74

Our great friend and client, Tetsu Ikuzawa, set yet another career record last weekend, reconfirming his place as the oldest winner in Japanese motorsport history. Aged 74 years and 4 months, Tetsu took a great win in the historic race meet at Sodegaura Forest Raceway.

Driving the beautifully presented 1968 Porsche 911, Tetsu used his experience to beat many lightweight racers including the formidable Lotus Elans and a number of other Porsche 911s. With the former Porsche 906 driver behind the wheel, Tetsu’s car has a distinct advantage, but he has also used many EB Motorsport parts in his race preparation.

We have previously reported on the car’s race debut wearing all of our lightweight 911R parts, including composite bodywork panels and lightweight bumpers. Tetsu has modified the parts to carry the original Porsche decorative trims, so it retains its period style but has the benefit of much lower weight. Lower weight means it is easier for the drivetrain, suspension and brakes to perform more efficiently. There really is no substitute for fewer kilograms!

All of our parts are design with weight reduction in mind to help your Porsche to perform at maximum efficiency. See our range of lightweight body parts in the EB Motorsport product pages.
